Neptune (in Greek mythology was Poseidon) was the god of Sea and Earthquakes.
Neptune's father Cronos (Saturn) was defeated Neptune and his two brothers, Jupiter and Pluto, divided the world into three halves.
While Neptune took the sea his brother Pluto had the underworld and Jupiter had the sky. Neptune had a terrible attitude and was reflected by the deadly earthquakes.
One day Neptune saw Amphitrite, the water nymph and fell in love. After being refused by Amphitrite for her hand in marriage Neptune sent one of his dolphins out to plead to Amphitrite again for her hand in marriage to Neptune and she changed her mind and said yes.
Because of what the dolphin did Neptune sent the dolphin to the heavens as constellation Dolphinus
